Captain Clyde V. Pringle Jr., a native of Bay County,joined the Panama City Beach Police Department in May 1990 as an Auxiliary Officer.  He obtained a certificate inCriminal Justice from Gulf Coast Community College in September of 1990 and became a full-time member of the department in February of 1991.  Initially assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division, he worked through the ranks becoming a Field Training Officer and eventually becoming one of the first Traffic Accident Reconstructionists within the department's history.  

Promoted to the rank of Captain in January of 2002 and assigned to the position of Patrol Division Commander since May of 2001, he is charged with the largest division within the department (Uniform Patrol, Beach & Surf Information Specialists). Captain Pringle, while employed with the Panama City Beach Police Department, has served as a Field Training Officer, Traffic Homicide Investigator, Traffic Accident Reconstructionist, is a charter member of the Traffic Homicide Investigative Network (est. through the 14th Judicial Circuit), a State Certified Accident Reconstructionist through the State of Florida, and is currently a licensed consultant in accident investigation and reconstruction and is also a current member of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists, Inc.



The Uniformed Patrol Division of the Panama City Beach Police Department is comprised of uniformed patrol officers and consists of several specialized teams. This division, under the direction of
Captain Clyde V. Pringle, Jr. forms the the largest division within the Panama city Beach Police Department.
